Math
The goal of the Saxon Math program in all grades is to provide incremental, distributed, and cumulative practice. Students are given a small concept to practice before adding the next step. Distributing the skills across the school year gives students time to practice and master them. The cumulative practice for homework and tests holds students accountable for every lesson from the beginning of the year. This program has been a success at Saint Robert Bellarmine School, helping to improve test scores and math confidence.
This course uses the Saxon Algebra program. We’re having fun with factoring, solving equations and inequalities, and graphing linear and quadratic equations. Students are encouraged to speak the language of math (using math vocabulary,) find and correct their mistakes, and defend their answers. These kids have confidence when they leave Saint Robert Bellarmine School!
