Middle School Math & Religion

Picture
Welcome to Middle School Math and Religion!

About Ms. Stryjewski:
  • Starting my 18th year of teaching, 4th year at SRB
  • Happy to work at a Catholic school, where I can share my faith
  • Excited to use my BA in Anthropology to teach evolution
  • Attended University of Notre Dame.  Go Irish!
  • Love hiking, biking, and watching movies at the Laemmle
  • Everyone CAN be good at math!
  • My students tell me I’m very organized

About Math:
  • We focus on mastery of the Common Core Math Standards
  • We use the Saxon Math Program-improving standardized test scores since its implementation three years ago AND student classroom performance and confidence
  • What’s great about Saxon Math?
  • It’s Incremental-Concepts are taught in small, approachable increments.
  • It’s Distributed-The increments are spread throughout the year, building in complexity, so that by the end of the year students have reached deep understanding and fluency.
  • It’s Cumulative-Practice and assessments include concepts from the most recent lessons as well as from earlier in the year, ensuring students retain all concepts and can make connections between them.
